The John Adams Center for the Study of Faith, Philosophy and Public Affairs

One of the most intellectually interesting new ventures in modern Mormonism -- though its interests transcend the denominational boundaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and don't focus primarily or even, really, secondarily on theology as such -- may well be the John Adams Center for the Study of Faith, Philosophy and Public Affairs, founded by Brigham Young University political philosopher Ralph C. Hancock.

Launched only a few years ago, and still seeking to grow -- donations welcome! -- it's certainly stimulating and provocative, which means that it has critics.  But that's not a bad thing.  Lively intellectual discussion and debate always stir things up.

Truth in advertising:  I'm very, very marginally involved in the Center's leadership.  It's a good bunch to be involved with.  And it's dealing with very big, fundamental issues.
