JBMORS 21/2

I'm pleased to report that the latest issue of the Maxwell Institute's interminably-named but excellent Journal of the Book of Mormon and Other Restoration Scripture (21/1, 2012), currently edited by Professor Paul Hoskisson, has arrived from the press.  (It probably won't be arriving in subscriber mailboxes or on line or in bookstores for a while yet, but . . . well, yes, I'm overly enthusiastic.)

Here is the table of contents:

Richard O. Cowan, "Latter-day Saint Temples as Symbols."

Michael Hicks, "Emma Smith's 1841 Hymnbook"

Matthew Roper, Paul J. Fields, and G. Bruce Schaalje, "Stylometric Analyses of the Book of Mormon: A Short History."

David Calabro, "'Stretch Forth Thy Hand and Prophesy': Hand Gestures in the Book of Mormon."

John Gee, "Formulas and Faith."

Elder Dallin H. Oaks, "Worthy of Another Look: The Historicity of the Book of Mormon."

The Roper/Fields/Schaalje piece will, incidentally, provide helpful background and context for several of the studies that I listed here.
